Our 2012/13 Summer Challenge Report Back
What prompted the Summer Challenge at our November 2012 Tea Party? The warmer weather had arrived, the sun had started shining again after all the rain, Durban's gardens were green and lush and it seemed like a perfect excuse to have a Summer Challenge for our local bearmakers. So, what did it involve?
Two pieces of Steiff Schulte mohair were handed out at the Tea Party – one green and one white – and bearmakers were challenged to make a bear or any other critter, that could be found in their gardens.
Deadline for the completed bears/creatures was 23rd February 2013, and on the day, the participants themselves were responsible for voting for their favourite creation.
The outcome of the voting was: Carol (1st), Tracy & Fay (tied 2nd)
A special thanks to all those bearmakers who were up for the Challenge!
These were the results (in order of photo taken on the day)...
