Simon Sailor requires the following if you wish to make him:

Fabric
  • Feathered, sparse, light gold 16mm pile Steiff-Schulte mohair - sized 50 cm x 35 cm.
  • Use mohair backing for paw/foot pads – sized 12 cm x 10 cm.
Eyes
  • One pair 6 mm or 7 mm black glass eyes with loops
Joints
  • 10 x size 25 mm joint discs for the head, arms & legs.
Hardware
  • 4 x Slot-head screws, 4 x Lock-nuts and 8 x Washers for limb connections.
  • 1 x Cotter pin and 2 x washers for head and body connection.
Thread
  • 2 metres #5 or #8 Black Perle embroidery thread to embroider his nose & mouth.
  • Navy cotton fabric - sized 15 cm x 30 cm for collar.
  • White ribbon - sized 1 metre.
  • Red ribbon - sized 60 cm.

Notes

  • Hollofibre filling is not included in the pattern.
  • Glass beads/plastic pellets, are optional, to add weight.
  • Simon Sailor is a collectable bear and not suitable for young children due to small parts.
